i was guilty of this i'm s ranked and my main weapon at turf wars really wasn't good and it took me time to let it go and switch and figure out gear to match plus get the hang of turf wars itself again... after that i won and lost but broke even if not a bit up so in general the games are closer which is nice for splatfest just may take a bit to max out, but how to you practice turf wars ? i'm a S level player and when i play a turf wars in unranked in general the players are new so i really never get to figure out of to play in a challengeing game.

maybe put turf wars in the ranked rotation so 4 game types on a 3 hour rotation

I wouldn't mind turf wars in ranked, but I am not sure if it would work well there, at least without some changes. To be fair, I never got the turf wars = unranked, everyfin else = ranked distinction. It is actually a bit weird that the main mode of the game is the only one that doesn't mean anything in terms of ranks. I mean, yeah, ranks are meaningless in the end, but it is somefin a lot of people seem to care about, so...

I mean, I guess in a way, it depends for each person? Because I mean, a lot of times when I play, I'm matched with A+ to S+ players in TW, and I'm an A rank myself. So it's never really a cakewalk for me. Yes, I get the newbie players in my lobbies at certain points in time, but a lot of the time I get the mores skilled players. I'm a charger main, so my main purpose for being in TW is to improve my aim game, and ink only when necessary. Because in all 3 modes of ranked, I'm simply there to splat the opposing team and be a distraction for wails, inkstrikes, etc. So that's what I do in TW. I guess your weapon and playstyle influence how you want to practice. Do you wanna cover as much ground as possible with occasional splats? Or do you wanna ink a bit, but mainly focus on taking the opposing team out every chance you get and target only them? Maybe you wanna go for a spawncamp. Or perhaps avoid confrontation and only splat when it's necessary.

When I'm using a weapon that can actually ink, I ink what my teammates leave bare, clean up inkstrikes, clean up what the opposing team does....and if I get bored of that, I just splat everything in sight that's moving of the opposite color. I wouldn't actually mind if they made a TW rank mode. It'd be interesting to see how it plays out. So I mean...TW isn't solely about inking. Yes that's the main thing, but not everything. I see weapons that can't ink a large amount, but they spend lot of time splatting the opposing team to prevent them from inking.

Haha I actually had the opposite experience. I tried to use the Zink mini splatling instead of my usual ranked mains, because I figured I would be facing the turf wars meta. But instead I got destroyed a bunch before I switched back, because I was actually facing the ranked meta weapons! I was humbled.
