Recent update issues

Hello, I have a bit of an issue. It's probably just since I haven't had to do this before and I apologize for my stupidity here, but how do I force Splatoon to take the most recent update. It has not yet received the update and I am not able to play online because of it. Thanks!

Simply start up Splatoon from the Wii U main menu, not quick start.

It's funny because I tried that out, but it just started up like normal without updating. That's how I found out it wasn't updating to be fair. I was worried it was my internet, but I have a working internet connection...

Yeah it automatically finds updates. It just took abit longer than usual yesterday, I should have waited instead of making a thread about it instantly.
