I’m not in need this very second, but in the near future I’d like to commission somebody to make a banner for my team. Is there a good resource to find artists available? Or would the best route simply be to make a post here when the time comes?

https://sendou.ink/art?open=true (ty sendou!). I know a lot of artists also promote on twitter. If you find an artist you like but they don't have comms something to try is to check the lists they're on as well bc someone might've put them on a list with other artists who might have comms open.

If I had a nickel for every time I asked for a resource and it was on sendou, which I use every day, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s strange that it’s happened twice.

There are plenty of artists on Twitter who have banner commissions open, but I understand if you want to avoid the website at all costs. Additionally, Twitter has been rumored to shadowban or suppress posts that mention "commission", "price", etc.

I would suggest joining Splatoon discords - the really popular, casual-oriented ones especially - and seeing the promotion or art channels to see if artists are posting their examples or sheets. As an artist, I know I've run to Squid School multiple times to appropriately shill my art in the correct channel!

As Tree mentioned, sendou.ink has a resource to find artists, but I'm unsure how many people still update their profiles to this day.

By the way, I'm gonna shill myself, but here's some of my banner examples on my web site... :D
