Not the way I do it, you could lose your snails but that's the worst thing that comes to mind. How do you lose your files?BTW, if you screw it up then you lose all your files.
having splatoon disk it is 594 MB and this size is for 4 miiIt only needs to be big enough to hold the game and/or all save data. My game (I downloaded) is around 2.5 gigs. If you have the physical version it will be less for you. To answer your question, four gigabytes should be plenty.
Well, yeah you lose your snails, but there have been multiple times where i've copied the data over, something happens with the usb connection, and the data gets corrupted. I'm just saying that it could be possible. Not the way I do it, you could lose your snails but that's the worst thing that comes to mind. How do you lose your files?

That's interesting. I have some questions. Is it an old drive? Are the contacts clean and without any buildup? I'm not sure if this would cause problems, but is it usb 2.0 or 3.0? I know 3.0 is backwards compatible but the Wii U only has 2.0. It sounds like you're doing it right, but I wouldn't copy it back if you're having lots of problems.I guess here is as good a place to ask, since I'm kinda in the same boat as SupahN0va.
So I have a USB drive, I formatted it and copied my game file to it, and when I booted up the game it told me there was a problem with it. When I reset the system, it acted like the drive hadn't been formatted yet. So I reformatted it, recopied the stuff onto it, and then it decided to work. Rerolls didn't go as planned, so I repeated everything again, and when I booted it up it gave me the error message again. This time, though, the drive registered as having been formatted.
Now is there something I did wrong, or is there an issue with the drive itself? And should I be concerned that my save file might get screwed up if I copy the drive's data back onto the system?
That's really odd. The only thing I can think of is to try a different drive if you have one. You could also try to put something from a computer on the drive to see if the drive is the problem.@97Stephen
It should be a new drive. I bought it from a Staples last month. I checked the packaging it came in, and it says it is (and I quote) "Interface: USB 2.0 (also compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 1.1 ports)." It's a Verbatim brand disk drive if that makes a difference.
