    Equipment
The equipment attendees are required to bring depends on the size of the LAN event.

Large LAN: 8-12 players/match (Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe)
Event attendees are required to bring the following equipment, which is kept with them throughout the event:

    1. A Nintendo Switch console
    2. A copy of each game they intend to play
    3. Any compatible controllers they'll be using (A Pro Controller with its USB cable is recommended)
    4. [Recommended] A headset (Do not plug headsets or headphones with an active microphone or noise cancelers directly into the Nintendo Switch while in LAN mode)
We also ask that tournament entrants bring the following additional equipment for the gaming setups:

    1. A complete Nintendo Switch Dock set (Dock, AC Adapter, HDMI cable)
    2. A Nintendo Switch compatible LAN adapter (One can be purchased here)
    3. An Ethernet cable, at least 6ft long
If a tournament entrant does not have a LAN adapter and Ethernet cable, these can be loaned for a $2 fee.

This equipment should be labeled with the attendee’s name, since it remains at a TV/monitor for the duration of the event. We ask attendees who bring additional equipment and anticipate leaving early to please let the event organizer(s) know in advance.

Bringing additional equipment isn’t required, however, the large LAN events depend on this donated equipment to provide enough complete gaming setups for everyone. Those who don’t bring additional equipment may be unable to participate in the event. If there are not enough setups available for everyone, attendees may be able to play Nintendo Switch games in handheld or tabletop mode with other people. This possibility isn’t guaranteed and varies from event to event.

Please note that 2 people can play Mario Kart LAN mode on the same system.

Small LAN: 2-4 players/match (ARMS, Pokken Tounament DX, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, Puyo Puyo Tetris)
One Nintendo Switch system will available for people to use to compete in single screen tournaments. Provided controllers include: 2 Joy Cons (with grip), 2 Joy Cons (no grip), 1 Pro Controller, 1 PowerA Wired Controller, and 2 HORI Pokken Tournament Pro Pad Controllers. So these events can be held if nobody brings any equipment. However, to allow for local or LAN play, we ask tournament entrants to bring the following equipment:

    1. A Nintendo Switch console
    2. A copy of each game they intend to play
    3. Any compatible controllers they'll be using (A Pro Controller with its USB cable is recommended.)
    4. A headset (Do not plug headsets or headphones with an active microphone or noise cancelers directly into the Nintendo Switch while in LAN mode)
    5. A complete Nintendo Switch Dock set (Dock, AC Adapter, HDMI cable)
The Dock set should be labeled with the attendee’s name, since it remains at a TV/monitor for the duration of the event. We ask that attendees who bring a Dock set and anticipate leaving early to please let the event organizer(s) know in advance.

Bringing this equipment isn’t required, however, the small LAN events depend on this donated equipment to allow for multiplayer gaming on separate screens.
