Splatfest time trouble

So I got myself all hyped up for today, since my in-game splatfest board said the splatfest was on today. But the time passed when it said it would start and I'm getting confused, how come my board shows a different date than everyone else's?

It's based upon your time zone for your Wii U clock setting. For people in Pacific Time, it's 9PM today to 9PM on Saturday. But your time zone is somewhere around Alaska Standard Time, which is 8PM today to 8PM tomorrow. Eastern Time has it derpy with 12AM tomorrow to 12AM Sunday.
