Splatoon 2 bricking systems?

I was on the support forums for Nintendo Switch earlier and read a post about someone who's Switch wouldn't start up completely after playing Splatoon 2

I've certainly never heard of this. I don't believe it, honestly. Sounds more likely they broke it themselves or are just frankly not telling the truth.

Yipes. I feel bad for the person who's Switch broke but it honestly sounds like the owner must've done something to the Switch before starting up Splatoon 2.
