Wasn't really sure where to put this, if anyone has a better idea please feel free to move it accordingly.

yes, i'm sure this has been done before, and probably better, but i recently started using Sony Vegas so when the topic came up i figured it'd be a good opportunity to practice a bit with it

Just sharing this because for some reason this conversation has come up a couple of times and somehow people still think there's aim assist.

Yeah, aim assist isn't a thing, although some could be fooled if they played only FPS's. Your video explains it well.

I might have compared the difference is snap distance when aiming high (big difference) and aiming at the model's feet (small difference) because the cursor is moving to the closest intersection point of target and max range (like you explained in the diagram).

You could also show the Heavy Splatling. As you charge, the cursor moves upward. But you're not shooting any higher, just farther. It's third person perspective.

... As for other silly myths, I once thought the game gave "flicking" chargers the benefit of the doubt, because they flick so quickly the game says "well they moved the gyroscope so fast, their cursor was to the left of the inkling the frame before and to the right the frame after, I'll give them the hit." But that's preposterous in a game running at 60 fps. I was just salty cause I don't have their godly sniper aim, lol.

Is this supposed to be impressive?

I was actually originally going to just use a charger to use the laser to illustrate it a little better, but I figured it made more sense with a shooter since it's probably more straightforward and less finicky. And I was lazy.
