I've had this problem with playing Splatoon for a while now, and was wondering how other people deal with it. I just wake up and take a shower or just come home from school, boot up my Wii U and start up the game. After holding the gamepad for a few minutes however (or sometimes immediately after picking it up), my hands start to get clammy. No matter how many times I wash them or wipe them off onto my shirt, the sweat just keeps coming back, and with the glossiness of the controller it's a real annoyance and often keeps me from playing at my best.
I was thinking about buying a gamepad jacket, hoping it would help, but I was concerned about the buttons being too sunken in making them harder to press. Or if it didn't work or fit snugly, i'd have wasted 15 bucks. Then I stumbled across this video, which explains how to remove gloss from plastic. My only problem with that is i'd have to completely disassemble my gamepad in order to do it, and I don't really want to take the chance of screwing something up and then having to buy replacement parts (which I imagine are rarer than pure gear), or more likely not even know where I messed up. There's also the slight fear of not being able to revert back to the gloss for whatever reason.
So what do you think? Do you have clammy/sweaty hands sometimes, and when/if you do, how do you deal with them?
