As far as being close range goes, it hasn't really affected me that much. Its the distant opponents or the ones that sneak up on me that always get me.

Weapons that shine at close range combat such as aerospray and splash work wonders against the bucket (from my experience using them). They work really well because the bucket user does not have enough time to react to their assault. This will also be a problem if the bucket user is put on a wide open space, where the gunner can shark their way to the bucket user and end them.

Its all about whether the bucket user can out-maneuver and land their sloshes on the enemy, otherwise that will be a heavily lopsided fight. I try to get at least one hit in to make it easy for a teammate to finish them.
