The Weapon Shop Training Area

I was beginning with some research about the equipment and weapons, and found out that the training ground in the weapon shop, if you press Y ("Try out"), is pretty great for that, because it even shows the damage on the balloons.

Now I have some questions maybe some of you can answer:
1. The balloons pop after 100 dmg... Is that the amount of damage you need to kill an actual enemy (without any defense equipment)?
2. On the highground there are 3 ballons with 1, 2 and 3 defense symbols on them. I'm assuming this means that they have 1, 2 and 3 defense as equipment..? Does anyone know if thats true?
