Tower Control Glitch?

Okay, so I was doing squad battle today with my friend on tower control and the score was very close, 2 points left for the other team, and only 1 for ours. However, the enemy team was getting close to winning and got very close to our base and probably would've won the game, if my teammates did not stop the opponents in time. However, when the enemy team lost control of the tower, the game automatically ended and we won with a KO, even though the tower was still by our base. I don't have any video evidence of this since I wasn't recording at the time, but I can assure you that this happened to me. Has anything similar happened to others?

Oh and if it helps, the map we played on was Blackbelly Skatepark.

They probably got to 1 point as well. Splatoon never allows ties. If you tie, the last team to take control gets 1 more point to their score, and wins. And since you were at 1, it's a KO.
