Tower movement throwing me off the tower

So I was in Bluefin on the tower right at the point that the tower changed from moving upwards to moving forward... And it seemed like it threw me off. Is this the way it normally behaves? Have others seen this?

Here's a video of it happening. Really caught me off guard, almost makes me think it's not supposed to behave like that...
