Vanilla Dynamo Roller vs. Gold Dynamo Roller

Which is better in general, the normal Dynamo Roller or the Gold Dynamo Roller?

Also which would be better for Splat Zones?

Whether the Dynamo Roller is better or the Gold Dynamo is better depends entirely on the player. Their stats are actually the same so the only difference between the two is the sub weapon and the special. Which one has the "better" choice depends entirely on the player and what they like the best. The Dynamo has Sprinkler and Echolocator while the Gold Dynamo has Splat Bombs and Inkstrike.

Speaking practically, the Dynamo is probably better because of the Echolocator. Giving the opposing team's positions away to your entire team can really help your team get the upper hand. It almost makes it more useful than the Inkstrike. But that depends on how you use your subs and specials. It's all up to which one you would prefer to have at your access.

For Splat Zones... Probably the Dynamo. The Sprinkler would probably serve more use in covering ground than the Splat Bombs would.

I'm a roller main but I've never actually used either Dynamo roller. Their slowness doesn't work for me so they're pretty much the only rollers that I won't ever use. So I can't really say how they operate in battle very much.

I see the gold out more than the vanilla in Turf Wars, mostly for the Inkstrike. Said special would be great in Splat Zones, especially single zone maps. Just bring some gear with special charge up.

I actually prefer the vanilla, myself, and as Airi said, the sprinkler in great for Splat Zones, but I enjoyed the Echolocator (and all special's, really) secondary utility of being an instant full fill of your ink tank.

Really, you need to decide if you want to be more agressive with the gold, or more about ink coverage and team aiding with the vanilla. Just remember to wear a ton of ink savers and refill ups for both of them, and that inkling speed does zero for rollers.

This is mostly opinion, but I also like the standard Dynamo better. For me, sprinklers seem to be more useful and versatile than Splat Bombs, which often backfire and empty your tank. Echolocator is a great special that benefits the whole team, while Inkstrike's uses are somewhat situational.

Splat zones wise, you can take either way. Sprinklers are good tools to take the zones and charge your special, while Inkstrikes are great for offencive rushes.

It depends on the mode, your play style and what you want to accomplish.

Vanilla is great for Splat Zones since it has Sprinkler and Echolocator. But Gold Dynamo is also good for zoning and can actually fight back against snipers. Inkstrike is good for maps with two Splat Zones.

In regards to Sprinklers, they're more for maintaining control of a Splat Zone and denying access than inking new ground. They also serve as a distraction for the enemy. Dynamo does a way better job of inking than Sprinklers do. Your entire team being able to see where the enemy is on the map is a huge advantage. The instant tank re-fill from Echolocator is also really great for the Dynamo Roller, although it takes longer to charge the special than Inkstrike. Although you can start recharging your special meter again as soon as you use pop Echolocator.

Inkstrike is great for forcing the enemy off the tower or zoning them out of your way toward the goal. Splat Bombs do the same thing to a lesser extent.

Even though the vanilla dynamo is better turf wise, I prefer the gold dynamo roller. I just looooooooove splat bombs. I'm extremely creative with them.
