The beauty of integrated voice-chat is that you don't have to do anything. You don't have browse forums for friends, figure out how to communicate, figure out a time to play, etc. You can just hop into a game, and get the high-level team coordination that only voice-chat can provide. Nintendo has shown no interest in providing integrated voice-chat, but that doesn't mean it has to be this hard to get around it.
I created a mumble server, and its my hope is that it becomes a place where people can go to find others with voice chat to party up with or to play in a custom match with, as soon as the august 5th update arrives.
How do you do this?
1.Download Mumble
2.You connect to the server and change your name to follow the following format "in-game username | Highest Rank Achieved | gun/gun-types you play | location" For example, "Aviynw | A+ | Squiffer | Boston, MA, USA"
3.By default you'll be in the main channel. You ask "Who wants to play with me?"
4.You create a sub channel by right clicking the main channel in the right-side panel and click "add".
5.You tell people to join your channel.
6.They join.
7.you exchange whatever info you need to party up/create a custom match.
8.You get happy.
Server info:
Address: 104.236.19.232
Port: 64738
I've posted this in a few different places. I was really disappointed in the initial reddit responses, which seemed totally uninterested. Please pass the word along to whatever forums/communities around this game may exist. I hope I won't be alone when I unpack my new headset and explore the August 5th updates.
I was unaware that there was already a teamspeak server set up for the same purpose. Join ts42.gameservers.com:9211 instead. It already has a vibrant active community.
