Splat twit is honestly so god awful. Twitter is so toxic and I feel like over the coming months more communities will migrate to other forums as Elon continues to ruin the website

Twitter in general is kind of a cesspool for people to complain about things and share the same (often uninformed) opinions about everything. Every time I've checked out a game's community it always feels like the ones attached to Twitter are less happy than the ones that aren't. Genuinely would make me very happy if people stayed here, and although I don't know if it'd be worth it I'm HEAVILY considering running a super super casual tournament on this site just to give people that much more reason to check this place out.

Twitter is designed to breed toxicity, even if by accident. Short form replies, QRTs, and the audience being made of followers combined with an algorithm that maximizes eyeball time will inevitably lead to a place that values dunks and echo chambers over any sort of reasonable conversation.

No, you can’t make a public spectacle of others as easily on a forum as you can on Twitter. The medium shapes the way people interact.

I co-run an account dedicated to documenting Splatoon twitter Drama/ incidents for community saftey and in the half month that acct has existed there hasn't been 5 days without something happening. its really sad
