Teams can be blamed at times, but it cant possibly be everytime. The players at a + have gotten their not because of luck. Although i will say getting out of the B range is tougher than climbing the A ranks as there are more competent teammates in the higher ranks. The best and only way to overcome this imo is by focusing how u can make your team better and fixing whatever errors you make (no matter how small they may be) and be able to accept the fact that you will play in a bad team again.

I hope tower control will be fun. It seems to me that this is the type of mode where squelchers would be completely broken.

I wonder if there will be different ranks for different modes. Like right now, I'm A+ in Splat Zones, but will Tower Control have a separate ranking from Splat Zones? Will I start at C- for Tower Control?

^ It seems the rank should stay the same for all Ranked Battle modes, but I don't know for sure.

What I want to know is, will there be an option to choose between Splat Zones and Tower Control? Or will it rotate like the stages? The "modes" section when playing Ranked Battle seems to only have enough space to show one mode at a time...that would be really weird though.

Most likely will be the same rank. But I guess we have to wait and see.

I'm thinking they are going to be rotating game modes with stages. Unfortunate, but I don't think they have a big enough player base to spit ranked lobbies into two (and three when rainmaker becomes a thing) separate game modes.

To be honest I think your rank in Splat Zones will be shared in Tower Control. Nintendo did describe Tower Control as Ranked Battle after all:

Tomorrow, on 7/1 at 7 PM PT, a new Ranked Battle will be added to the game! This new mode is called Tower Control. Hop aboard the tower placed in the middle of the map, and ride it to your opponent’s goal. stay sharp—you’ll have to protect whoever’s riding the tower from enemy attacks!

Another "my team sux" story incoming...
So I was in Ranked on Walleye Warehouse... my rank was A- (6) and the battle was at 10 (30-something) - 50. The opposing team had recently took over from 100 and seemed to be coming in hard as they completely took over the map and killed us all very quickly. It seemed the whole team wanted to gang up on us at the little corridor that they knew we would try to sneak up in. They threw a ink wall thing at me but I dodged it and killed two of their men. Then I killed the 3rd dude who was just waiting to be inked. Then the last dude had it end up in a double kill situation.

My whole team just stood behind a while, afraid because all that could be seen was blue... they had the perfect chance to get back to the winnings, but they threw...

I can agree with this. I got to A+99 very quickly once I was matched up with other A+ players (won 7 straight). I had the luxury of not worrying about my teammates and was able to focus on my game, and everyone played their part in our success.

All I really have to say about this is "LOL".
Ranked Battles randomly shuffles random players into teams with no communication. Needless to say, teamwork is thrown out of the window, so you have to be good individually rather than as a group. The best weapons are the Rollers and the Blasters due to their instakills and versatility. Chargers are great, but lack the versatility of Rollers/Blasters and also because most engagements within Splatoon are short range, that also gives Rollers/Blasters an edge, not to mention the Dynamo Roller outranges half the weapons in the game. So once all those Rollers/Blasters have risen above users of other weapons, now they all are on equal footing with their weapon choice and the randomness of teams, so now players must hope their combined efforts are coordinated enough to secure a win. Ergo, my point in the first post.

I don't feel that Tower Control deserves ranks. The mode isn't as structured as Splat Zones, and can frankly be a clusterfuck at times.
It doesn't help that it seems to require much more teamwork in order to play, which really sucks when your rank is in the hands of randoms.

How to be good at Tower Control:

Rush the Tower and kill everything!

So this mode is good, probably the mode actually most about killing in the game. Being a charger is certainly interesting as I don't have to be directly involved. Being a charger while on the tower is also weird.

An observation in the mode, the tower does seem to go faster the more people on it contrary to what the treehouse said.

It also makes me mad when my entire team doesn't get onto the tower. We lose the very second someone is off it. It's better to die defending it, then just to be off it and be like, "oh we lost." Like I said, it also goes faster with more players. So piling on it could win the day. Even if there are suction bombs on it.

This game mode rocks! It's like a hybrid of an escort mission and capture the flag. It's too bad that you can't choose your own game mode in ranked battle now though.

I flubbing LOVE Tower Control! It fits my playstyle so well! People are freaking dumb when it comes to this... When the opponent has the tower, just throw bombs up on it. It'll either kill 'em or force them off where you can pick 'em off there lol.

The spire in the middle has saved me more times than not from the enemy snipers.

I have to say, I find Tower Control a lot more fun and entertaining than Splat Zones. Something about it is just a complete thrill ride and I end up enjoying it no matter if I win or lose. Maybe it's the fact that you're always on the move rather than just camping a particular spot or two.

And this may just be me, but there's something strangely satisfying about managing to slow the game down because of how many players are targeting the tower with hundreds of bombs.
