1. [BASE] The H-3 Nozzlenose: A Basic Overview
i. H-3 Nozzlenose (H-3)
The H-3 Nozzlenose shares the same unique trait of its little brother; it fires only three shots at a time. This model increases the barrel length and compression power for longer range, better coverage, and a three-shot splat (one trigger pull). All of this comes at a drastically decreased refire rate; it reloads at approximately half the speed of the L-3. This particular variant brings the Suction Bombs and Echolocator to the table, promoting a defensive approach.
ii. H-3 Nozzlenose D (H-3 D)
The H-3 Nozzlenose D is almost identical to the original version. Decorated with a dolphin decal (the D stands for Dolphin), it takes on the Point Sensor and Inkzooka. This switches the loadout from a support and defense focus to a much more obliging offensive role. Perfect for flushing out hiding foes.
2. [WHAT] Which Variant Should I Choose?
The H-3 is much better suited to Turf War. Suction Bombs control space very well, but overall are lackluster compared to Splat and Burst Bombs. As such, it is best suited to block key areas from access. The H-3 D on the other hand all but loses the ability to create space and deny areas, instead trading it for insane kill potential. It's very easy to splat your enemies if they can't ambush you.
3. [H3NN] The H-3 Nozzlenose
i. Main Weapon
The H-3 Nozzlenose has great range and power, at the expense of wiggle room. Missing a full burst usually means death. This is a great weapon for marksmen, as its balance of range, power, and accuracy are a deadly combination in the right hands. It only takes three shots to splat at base damage, and each burst fires three shots. This means, unlike the L-3, it can kill in one burst. It also enjoys excellent per-shot coverage. As such, it is one of my personal favorite weapons.
ii. Suction Bombs
Suction Bombs are very often misused as a general-purpose attack tool (thanks to the legions of Tentatek Splattershot users). If used in this way, they are very easy to evade. Instead, try to take advantage of their sticky nature and place them on walls (and, in rare situations, ceilings) where the enemy is less likely to see them and attempt to evade. This makes them effective at both escape (throw one when being pursued around a corner) and denial (toss them in clear view of an area you don't want your enemies entering, such as around an exposed Rainmaker). With proper timing, they are very good at killing super jumpers as well.
iii. Echolocator
The Echolocator is essential for this weapon to be effective. Hiding enemies are the #1 greatest threat to your existence. Try to time it so enemies are all active (the entire enemy team is alive and their squid icons are colored in) or, alternatively, use it as an emergency ink recovery option.
vi. Recommended Abilities
- Special Charge Up/Special Saver
Echolocator is one of the best specials, both for you and your team. You will win games if you can deploy this as efficiently as possible.
- Defense Up
This will lower your enemies' TTK. A sound choice for any weapon, but especially for this one, given its poor close-range performance.
- Ink Saver Main
This is mainly for allowing you to make the most of the ink you have left after a Suction Bomb. I recommend the Jungle Hat personally (Ink Saver Main main slot, 5x chance for Ink Saver Sub sub slots)
- Comeback/Quick Respawn/Haunt
You will likely die a lot using this weapon. Any of these abilities can help take advantage of this.
v. Useful Techniques
- Jungle Hat (Ink Saver Main, Ink Saver Sub sub), Cycle King Jersey (Defense Up, Ink Recovery Up sub), Clownfish Basics (Special Charge Up, Swim Speed Up sub)
The defensive loadout. Defense Up can be substituted for Special Charge Up or Special Saver. My preferred loadout.
- Jungle Hat (Ink Saver Main, Ink Saver Sub sub), Retro Sweat (Defense Up main, Damage Up sub), Squid-Stitch Slip-Ons (Defense Up main, Swim Speed Up sub)
For maximum ease of use.
- Squid Nordic (Comeback main, Quick Respawn sub), Vintage Check Shirt (Haunt main, Run Speed Up sub), Black Trainers (Quick Respawn main, Ink Recovery Up sub)
The shock trooper/support loadout. If you're learning the weapon, use this.
4. [H3ND] The H-3 Nozzlenose D
As such, it is one of my personal favorite weapons.
ii. Point Sensor
Point Sensor is a wonderful sub weapon that tracks enemies in its blast radius (like a mini-Echolocator) for eight seconds. This is critical for keeping tabs on hiding enemies, the greatest threat to your existence. Normally, pursuing an enemy around a corner could spell doom for you. With the Point Sensor, you can now tell if that "fleeing" enemy was simply baiting you around a corner right into their waiting Tentatek Splattershot. It also works well to force snipers to keep their heads down, lest they be countersniped.
iii. Inkzooka
The Inkzooka is a commonly misunderstood weapon. It works best, not as a panic button, but as a sneak attack weapon. Hiding in your ink until an enemy comes into view, then murdering them with your hidden Inkzooka is a very viable strategy. Just be sure to activate it before enemies become threats.
iv. Recommended Abilities
- Defense Up
This will lower your enemies' TTK. A sound choice for any weapon, but especially for this one, given its poor close-range performance.
- Ink Saver Main
This is mainly for allowing you to make the most of the ink you have left after a Point Sensor. I recommend the Jungle Hat personally (Ink Saver Main main slot, 5x chance for Ink Saver Sub sub slots)
- Comeback/Quick Respawn/Haunt
You will likely die a lot using this weapon. Any of these abilities can help take advantage of this.
v. Sample Loadouts
- Jungle Hat (Ink Saver Main, Ink Saver Sub sub), Retro Sweat (Defense Up main, Damage Up sub), Squid-Stitch Slip-Ons (Defense Up main, Swim Speed Up sub)
For maximum ease of use. My preferred loadout.
- Squid Nordic (Comeback main, Quick Respawn sub), Vintage Check Shirt (Haunt main, Run Speed Up sub), Black Trainers (Quick Respawn main, Ink Recovery Up sub)
The shock trooper/support loadout. If you're learning the weapon, use this.

Four stars. If you gave some space inbetween the paragraphs it would be easier to read. Other than that, good guide.
Really helpful, please continue.
