AspireArt is right, all you did was jump out of it that had a bit on the tower( that is neat) but when you landed the jump, the ground was no longer in the killer wail. If you where able keep jumping in and out of it while being on the edge, it would be completely different.

Around the 0:12-0:13 mark I landed within range. That's why my inkling made a sound and the screen was surrounded by a bit of ink after I landed the jump. After that, then I was out of range.

I understand that the video isn't phenomenal. I've got to start somewhere.

Hate to burst your bubbler (punny, right?), but all you did in the video was jump out of the range of the killer wail, which wasn't aimed properly. A little higher and jumping wouldn't have done anything to stop it from splating.

I did fall into it's range just enough to get a bit of ink splatter.
