Felt like dropping in and getting some opinions since I've been researching this topic recently.
Background: I personally just hit S+ in all 3 modes without using motion controls (my sensitivity is -1), back in the original I was around A+ but barely played around when S ranks were added. I...
Has anyone done extensive testing on the Disruptor subweapon? I see in the sub sheet it reduces movespeed, and it also reveals the enemy's position on your screen (idk about the map, haven't looked) for its duration so they can't really hide in their own ink, but could it affect ink efficiency...
For those wondering, this comes out at 7PM Pacific, TODAY (6/5/15), which judging by the last few updates, is probably the time they will always push live updates.
I'm actually really liking Splat Zones so far, it seems much more balanced than Turf Wars in terms of what weapons are viable because you don't have to focus as much on inking territory. I've seen a lot of players have success with Charger and Blaster weapons, which I almost never saw in like...
I think it would be better to have limitations rather than outright bans, like having a limit on the number of people who can be using the same weapon per team. If one weapon is somewhat overpowered, then one person on each team can have access to it while the other three are able to work around it.
Would it be possible to have a different theme set for your account on desktop and mobile? I love the Octoboards theme on desktop, but it's nearly impossible to read anything on my phone with it so I had to change to Squidboards Orange.
Split screen would be great, but you'd need a pretty large screen to accomplish that. Not to mention that the gamepad is necessary in 4v4 as far as we know, since you can view the map on it and also tap to superjump to teammates after respawning.
I don't really plan out what I'm going to sprite that often, lol. If I was going to make another it would probably just be an edit with my personal Inkling when I figure it out.
If you can make your own groups to play with online, then you just need the setups to be connected to the internet and all in the same place to accomplish what I'm getting at. And you could do the same thing entirely online. It's not like Smash has best of 3 matches built in.
I think that at some point one mode or the other would be picked as the standard, or they could possibly be separate events. But it would have to be the same mode throughout an entire tournament, otherwise it would be like playing stamina instead of stock+time in some rounds of a smash tournament.
So there are two 4v4 modes that we know of: Turf War and Splat Zones. Turf War is the main mode for online multiplayer and the mode we're most familiar with: the goal is to cover as much of the map in your team's ink as possible before the 3 minute timer runs out. Splat Zones is the main mode...
