I actually took a brief look at what they had in that folio. This actually does give good insight on how close the two languages are connected (i.e. whether or not they are as mutually intelligible as I initially perceived it to be, how many words are direct cognates, etc.). So in doing this...

To be fair, absolutely nothing outside of what is established in-game has been really developed. Splatfests were (more or less) confirmed canon (given that the final splatfest results, directly or otherwise, influenced the story's plot) though, so inklings knowing ideas of this world isn't...

In regards to the keyboard related discussion, with how the Octoling language is designed, it makes it possible for a standard keyboard to be used. Perhaps Inkling boards may input characters more or less like a Korean keyboard, where the base glyphs are input as one types, and special "mutator"...

I like how I made a project that is a foil to this. While you made it to be more practical and accessible, I made mine just for the sake of making one, adding whatever elements I felt like. I also was more liberal in terms of what I made.

Should have I put /dz/ instead? Besides, Welsh LL's phoneme has been in the (Octoling) language since the first real edition of the guide, and is all but just as unpronounceable for us (AmEnglish) speakers. Can't speak for the Brits here
