The ink radius isn't the same as its lethal range and at best (the suction bomb also has a larger lethal range), you'll catch someone in a trade because of how vulnerable you're leaving yourself when laying that second ink mine. In fact, it'd be better to just back up and get the person with...
I've tried really hard to utilize the Ink Mines but I've never gotten the set to really work out; Splat Bombs seem to be able to do almost everything the Ink Mines can do, and more. Inkzooka takes ages to charge without a toss-able bomb so that makes a double whammy for me. I don't quite know...
So this doesn't normally happen for me, especially as a Luna Blaster on Splat Zones (Museum D'Alfonsino). It took every miracle in the book to last a straight four minutes without getting splat while still maintaining that victory.
I felt like you were playing the Blaster a little too much like a standard shooter (i.e. quick sinking in and out between shots, slow walking while firing, and the abundance of your splats were purely direct shots). You have quite the aim though, so if you continue succeeding with your direct...
Quite an interesting method. I'm sure this is going to show up more since there are a plethora of wall-based hiding places from the tower's path. To top it off, you can get to some extremely hard to reach places with a Kraken on a few maps. This will make for some interesting hiding spots...

I'd have to disagree. Special Duration Up might get you an extra bomb or two but this weapon does not reach its special very well unless you're running Special Savers with it.
I agree that Swim Speed is universally helpful as well but its effect to help dodge is less helpful on a Blaster weapon...
Mix and matching is fine nevertheless. An alternative:
