It took me a while, but I have a pretty good thing goin' in ranked with this roller. I don't think it's a good idea to have more than one roller on a team, but it is a great way to clear out multiple opponents if combat heats up.
I've only been spawn-camped by teams that were better than mine. It's not some single mechanic that can be abused by anyone for an unfair advantage. If you reach the point of being spawn-camped, you did something wrong earlier in the match.
I actually just had a match on Rig. I went rolling toward someone, and he activated his bubble. I started attacking anyway and ended up shoving him off the cliff to his death. XD
You're joking, right? How is it situational? Basically, any opponent shows up (regardless of what weapon they are using), and you are now in "the situation". Fly forward and splat them! Climb walls! Annihilate all!
This is my primary configuration! I remember specifically wishing there was a Roller + Bubbler configuration, and the Kraken turned out to be even better. It lets a roller squid attack a highly fortified position.
The beakons are highly situational. I think they are amazing on Rig and Mall, but...
I am an avid roller main, but at times, I question whether the roller even has higher ink coverage than other weapons. I feel like a splattershot weapon can come into a room and cover the whole area in less time it takes me to systematically paint it (row by row). Do we have any methods of...
I really hope you're right. I'm just super nervous. Nintendo will hear the outcry of all the insta-death from "OP rollers" and do something awful (like decrease squid run speed while rolling).
You know, I used to ignore stuff like this, but considering Nintendo has a reputation of patching stuff based on hurt feelings, I need to make my voice heard: THE ROLLER IS NOT OP. If people keep complaining about it, it's going to receive a Little Mac nerf and become even worse.
Came here to post exactly this. Splatoon likes to claim I "have no Internet". I suspect the servers will improve over time. I played fine most of the day, but the servers go to crap as the afternoon/evening rolls on.
