Used to play it until the online got laggy and learning that it had some sort of ranking system, so I decided "Nope, I'm not gonna dedicate my time to yet luck-filled grindfest."

However, I still play it from time to time when I want some easily accessible nostalgia to make me feel better.

no lie I got sick of the recomended tab being full of "satisfying" levels so i stopped playing might pick it up again someday for fun

I don't anymore but that's mainly from just having a lot of other games to play.
I used to grind the game a lot though, improving my rank, learning level design, and spending days on insanely difficult uncleared levels.

while I don't play anymore, the Mario Maker series has a special place in my heart, it started around the golden year of when Splatoon came out.
