it could always be the other way around -- and they're actually a poc irl but their mii is lighter than they are irl. i personally was playing like that for a while.
i'm a poc myself & tbh i can understand where she is coming from. it could be considered racist, but first you'd have to establish their reason for choosing a different skin color, if they were really lighter irl, etc. so idk really tbh. but i definitely can understand.
