Could some of the Humans Still be alive?

Splatoon takes place over 12000 years after the apocalyptic event that wiped out humanity. Because of this, it would be unlikely that any were still alive. I guess I might be possible if there were humans who cytogeneticly froze themselves in an underground bunker (a la fallout 4) but this seems unlikely.

Considering the planet went Waterworld during some period after humanity's extinction, highly unlikely. The only possibility is that one of them ended up being frozen in a capsule somewhere, but i doubt Nintendo would add actual humans in this game.
Judd already existed during this game's early development when Splatoon was still about Rabbits, and he was the only character to be saved once the whole Rabbits concept got scrapped in favor of the squidkids we have today. Which is one of the reasons he's the odd one out compared to the rest of the water-themed Splatoon cast.
