Do you consider Splatoon to be Nintendo's next 'powerhouse' franchise?

Basically, do you think Splatoon could take off and become as highly represented as other highly regarded franchises in Nintendo like Star Fox, Metroid, Zelda or even Mario?

Nothing can reach the rank of Zelda and Mario. NOTHING. Not even Mario Kart and Smash which are decades old franchises are as popular as these two. That said, a franchise doesn't need to be on the level (of popularity and recognition) of Zelda and Mario to be a powerhouse. So yeah, I do think Splatoon will shape up to be one of Nintendo's greatest franchises (it isn't even a "franchise" yet).

In time after a couple sequels, I can see it being a franchise as big as Star Fox.

It being a shooter satisfies a need in Nintendo's eco-system.
Splatoon 2 will do wonders for NX sales if it is a launch title or an early release, which I expect it to be.

I can see it reaching good heights. But Nintendo need to support this game. If they keep adding more, then this title will be over the top good.

I can see it being on the level of a Star Fox, Pikmin, F-Zero or Metroid, yes.
All of those are popular among us hardcore gamers, but are far from big sellers.

It won't be selling a lot of extra consoles, but i think it will have a pretty high attachrate among Wii U owners.
Which sadly isn't saying that much :/
