Does Haunt Work With Rainmaker?

Hello, I am looking to play Splatoon 2 semi-competitively and was wondering about a very specific trait of the ability Haunt.

As you know in the mode "Rainmaker" when you hold the Rainmaker there is an icon that is shown above your head to let your friends and foes your location. However I have no clue whether the game counts it as tracking and will give you the Haunt stat boost.

I would appreciate feedback on this matter and if you don't know about this mechanic for Splatoon 2, I would like to hear info on how it works in the original Splatoon.

Generally, you see whether or not a main-exclusive ability is active in the three circles under your special gauge and no, I'm sure that kind of tracking didn't affect Haunt anyhow in the original and also won't in the upcoming sequel.
