So maybe too late for this being how soon the game will be out, but perhaps for DLC as well as just for the heck of a discussion deal, gear guess.
Simply have three (or more) One is your wishful thinking hoping to have in game someday. The second is something more grounded in reality, normal thing Nintendo would add, and third is like a random pick that's like a shot in the dark or doesn't fit the first or second spot.
My picks:
-the unlikely one: Beat's visor thing from Jet Set Radio. We all know it's icon it looks cool and Splatoon is a Little too similar to JSR. Nintendo does seem to be buds with Sega so you never know.
-realistic one: Wario's biker helmet or jacket from WarioWare/Smash Bros. Would fit Splatoon weirdly enough plus Nintendo loves adding in costumes of iconic characters in every other game these days.
-The random guess: Sonic's shoes. Again on the Sega thing but Sonic is more in Nintendo than its own games now so why not? Sonic's amiibo perk? You can Go Fyassst with Sonic's iconic red shoes? :P
