Happy Halloween Inklings!

Everyone loves the night of frights, Halloween~ There is always something for everyone. While recent years have been lackluster, that doesn't mean you cannot make your own Halloween! There is so much that people love about the holiday. Whether it's candy, scary horror movies, or scaring the sweet crap out of children.

What do you like about Halloween?

I love a lot of things about Halloween - the ambiance, the cooler weather, the fact that it's okay to dress up as silly or as strange or as scary as you like and get candy for it...being older, I can't exactly trick-or-treat without escorting a kid (and gosh forbid you have the audacity to ask for candy) but I like handing out treats, watching Halloween-themed cartoons, and enjoying the day.

Ah, sadly we don't celebrate Halloween at all where I live, but I always thought the concept was super cool. Probably going to lock myself up in my room and watch scary movies/listen to creepypastas all night, I'll create my own Halloween :3

I don't like Halloween all that much these days since I've never liked really scary things along with the holiday being more of a kid's thing nowadays. I'm more of a Christmas & Thanksgiving person, but sometimes I do watch some Halloween cartoons along with eating candy for once (I'm on a diet, but I do snack on candy every once in a while).

Haven't done this for years. Not many people around my area celebrate Halloween all that much nowadays. Especially my family, so I'm more of a 'party pooper' type of person here.

Sucks to have to live in the south where religions say "halloween is day of the devil" is that your situation?

Oh man, I love Halloween. From the atmosphere to the decorations to dressing up (or having an actual excuse to cosplay lol), it's one of my fave holidays next to Christmas.

This year I might just hand out candy with my parents since I'm too old now for trick-or-treating. If there's a Splatfest falling on that day, however, I'll probably be holed up in my room playing until it's time to hand out candy.

the crappier part is that there's a convention happening on halloween but i think i won't be able to go ;;

This makes me wonder why the Splatfest theme isn't more Halloween-related (like vampires vs mummies, corn candy vs chocolate or something). Hopefully they get one in before the oportunity is wasted ;)

I have a funny looking skull hat I'll be wearing on Halloween night giving out candy to kids who come to our door. We haven't actually done a proper Halloween in years so it's a big holiday for us this time around.

I am terrified of horror, but I'll watch the Ghostbusters and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! (Family Tradition) with my family on Halloween night.

Heh! The day of frights again isn't it? Sweet! I'll get my dark lights, fake blood and scary sound effects with moving skeleton ready!

I also remember when I was a little kid, whenever I went trick-or-treating and the people at the door kept on blabbering about my costume I would always think:

"SHUT UP LADY AND GIMME MY FREAKING CANDY NOW!!!!!!"

Different strokes for different people. A lot that have posted so far enjoy something about Halloween, or the holiday as a whole.

I personally don't mind the holiday at all. It's fun to see what costumes kids will wear, if they are custom made anyway. I like to see talent, not cooperate whoring. Which is what the holiday has sadly become in the past few years. If you want TRUE Halloween decorations anymore, you'd have to go to Spencers or a high end Halloween store. I also miss the days of Horror Movie Marathons in the movie theaters during Halloween. That's why I like to get slue of horror movies together and watch them. I may consider getting the Silent Hill movies this year and rewatch them. I know they are not exactly the best movies but I enjoy them as a Silent Hill series fan.

I love Halloween, it's this time of the year when I'm at my happiest. The whole October, November, and December triple combo is when my mood is at it's best.

I love eating candy, a lot. But I'm on a diet right now so I won't be munching too many. And I don't wear costumes unless I make them myself, because store bought ones look too "fake" and not the character or thing you're trying to be. It's expensive as all heck though and the kids around here don't have creative enough parents to actually get a decent costume. And yeah, those were the times when movie theaters had a Halloween Movie Night. It's a darn shame I live in the middle of nowhere so having to go to a high-end Halloween store is about a 3 hour trip, going there and going back.

Well I'm happy to hear that you enjoy yourself during the 3 months of Holiday cheer~ I will agree though that cooperate made costumes are just not worth the money. It sucks thought that it takes that long for you to get to a high end Halloween store and back. That's the horrible downsides to being out in the middle of nowhere I suppose. But as long as there are kids and fun to be had, then it's not all bad.

What's bad about my area are the Halloween Riots. It's something that happens when university students get drunk and start destroying stuff. It's something to be avoided. That's why I never leave my place during Halloween. Last year's riot was pretty bad but with the alcohol ban lifted for Halloween, it's only going to get worse this year.
