Inkling Commander
So I started with S1 as a lil Pokemon kid, who up until that point had never played a shooter game before, let alone a 3D game. So the fast pace of the game and all the scary one shot specials really spooked me. I ended up trying out all the weapons with either Bubbler or Kraken because the frame 1 panic specials made me feel safer. Eventually I ended up landing on Octobrush as my main.
Fast forward to S3 (I didn't have a switch when S2 was a thing) and I stuck with my good old faithful vOcto for a good long while. But then I unlocked the Heavy Splatling and thought to myself "You know zimi was kinda fun in s1, maybe I should try a splatling". I ended up really enjoying Heavy, like a lot. So then I tried all the other splatlings as I unlocked them and when I got to Hydra it was pretty much love at first splat.
The range! The power! The endless stream of bullets! I was powerless againts the Hydra's charms. Sure it was slow and ink hungry, but who cares about that when you have enough bullets to splat the enemy team twice over. Learning to play around it's weaknesses made the game much more interesting too. I feel like my movement really improved once I started playing Hydra, which is a little weird to think about. Also the kit is so much fun as well.
I do still play vOcto for fun occasionally, but the Hydra Splatling is my #1 now.
