Did you know SEGA made pinball machines between 1995 and 1999? They had the perfect opportunity and squandered it!
Huh, I didn't know that. I knew they were (and still are) really big in pachinko. Maybe they were testing the waters for a Sonic pinball game with Sonic Spinball? But yeah, it's definitely a wasted opportunity. I think they released a Sonic pinball table in 2013 for some special promotion, but I doubt it's the same as an 80's arcade/pizza parlor table.

Despite my tendency to rush forward, I am actually a fine-details person by nature, so rather than speedrunning, I try to comb stages in various video games dry to find every little secret there is.
Yeah, I'm more of a completionist as well, though there's something deeply satisfying about gliding through levels in a state of gaming zen. I still haven't beaten Skyrim because I have to find and complete every single sidequest. I then stop playing for a while, forget what I was doing, and restart.
I've only recently paying attention to personal bests and I'm thinking of getting into making TAS videos after this semester ends and I get some legit free-time.

As a result, I was briefly the world champion on some Sonic Heroes stages for score (as this is a game where there are seemingly random bonuses just for being in certain places).
Congrats dude. That's awesome! I had that on the GCN, but remember the game's music more than anything. Sonic games have had their ups and downs, but their soundtracks are always catchy as hell. I'm looking at you, Starlight Zone.

No, the closest there's ever been to a real-life physical Sonic pinball machine was a toy released in 1992. The then-aspiring start-up company Skit-B also created a unique full-size Sonic pinball machine, but it was never intended to enter commercial production as it was never licensed (hence, it's more of a fan project than anything). Skit-B has since dissolved due to legal troubles with other projects, however.

And yeah, even Sonic 2006 had a wonderful soundtrack. The only Sonic game with a truly bad soundtrack I've heard is Sonic Chronicles, and that's because the music was unfinished. They took the composer's equivalent of rough sketches (whatever they're called in music) and put them into the game.

I think we're veering far off-topic now, so I'll just close with this: If you think you're bad with Splatoon, you're likely using a weapon that's not compatible with your skills. You'll also need to get used to the game first, as its premise is pretty unique. No one starts out good at something (or at least, they're not supposed to). People only become great at something because they've practiced it.

Splatoon creates plenty of incentives to keep playing no matter how good or bad you are: You still get money and EXP for losing, you can get paired up with someone good enough to cover for you and win in that way, you can avoid contact with enemies and still do well (in Turf Wars, at least), half of the game has no ranking system, and there is an extensive single-player mode focused on teaching you the basics of the game that you can do at your own pace.

Just keep on playing. Eventually you'll get good at a lot of different weapons. Was like you too, didn't do very well, always got lower then 200 points. But after playing about 10 hours of it, i feel really good and i don't suck anymore.

As Shia Leboeuf put it "JUST DO IT!"

I don't know what it is, I use a buch of different weapons but none of them do the trick, and I just went on a lose streak of 35. This game is just way too hard, and the players I play against are just too good. Why is it that I have trouble understanding even the basics, but others understand the game in full details and know how to do everything? It's so disheartening when everytime I go to play this game I never win a single match. What can I do to get better?
Have you considered not sucking?

Funny as a person as I am, honestly consider that when you start saying things like "I suck at _____" you probably wont get better at it. A lot of people don't want to recognize the power of suggest, but it's quite a thing and can seriously mess up your mentality. Never look at a loss as just a loss, losing at anything is a teaching moment, and winning at anything has never taught anyone a lesson. It may take you a while to learn this game, but honestly it really is a matter of practice and always will be. It doesn't matter if you are slower than the rest if you still catch up. Being late is better than being never.

Just like seriously man, please stay positive and persevere. Losing a lot just makes winning even better.
