Is the new JP Splatfest real?

Recently, the SplatoonJP posted an announcement about the upcoming splatfest, Undiscovered Creatures vs. Advanced Tech.
Yes, it was done on their official account, but note that the tweet was uploaded on April 1st.
Can someone confirm that this is real and not an April Fools joke?

I don’t think it’s a joke. The choices aren’t really outrageous or anything, so despite it being april 1st I don’t think it’s fake. Also, it’s a cross-promotion with some research organization so I don’t think they would announce a promotion and not go through with it, since that may reflect poorly on one or both companies.

I think it's real, even the last Salmon Run equip came from this cross-promotion.

It was indeed posted on April 1, because Splatoon JP doesn't really give two hecks about American time zones (23:05 PM EDT = 12:05 PM JST/GMT+9), but keep in mind that April Fools isn't as big of a deal in Japan as it is in Western countries.

The early announcement was probably because of the Salmon Run collab, since it was indeed on April 1 (new month for Salmon Run prizes), but also in general to just announce the collab. JAMSTEC is also gonna be running real life collabs with Splatoon JP and one of JAMSTEC's ships will appear in the Octo expansion.
