ITT: Come up with an original gamemode that you think would be great in Spla2n!

As the title implies.

I kind of want to see a gamemode where the goal is simply to splat people, and your score depends on the number of splats your team gets, let's say, 10 points per splat, plus the 1000 point victory bonus.

Edit: In hindsight, this isn't very "original" but would be great, regardless.

I like splatoon mostly because the main focus of the game is the objective, not splatting so I probably would not enjoy this gamemode as much if they added it...

Eh, I feel like it would be fine if you actually got to choose the gamemode, instead of it rotating every 4 hours, then the people who want to do TDM can. Everyone else can play whatever they want, be it rainmaker, splat zones, or Tower Control.

Since we've seen the way Inklings carry Golden Eggs in Salmon Run, a battle mode where the team has to transport eggs one by one from a pile of them at their own spawn, to a collection basket near the enemy's spawn, similar to where a Rainmaker pedestal would be. Teams can split up into those trying to transport their own eggs, and those trying to slow down and block the other team. If you get splat mid-way your egg drops on the ground and only your own team can pick it back up.

Maybe a 4v4 salman run - The winning team is the one which gets the most eggs. Golden eggs are 100 points. Normal are 10. There are 2 artificial islands, and each one spawns on one island. A bridge connects the two, and there is a time limit, 5 minutes, a boss is summoned in the middle every minute, and 2 in 1 more minute left.

You guys ever play brutal legend?

How bout an pseudo RTS mode where you summon hordes of soldiers to attack an enemy outpost while you super jump all over the place to min/max certain conflicts and clashes.

Playable as an octoling or hell just make it a pure octoling mode where it shows how octarians do turf wars.

Also similar mode as an example of the PvP mode from LAPD: Future cop.

A 2 vs 2 game mode that can only be played with somebody else who is already on your friend list: Mountain Climbing. The two players are connected with a rope, on both teams. These teams have to cooperate in order to reach the top of a very high mountain, with platforms, switches, and other obstacles and shenanigans on the way to the top.

Ranked Mountain Climbing, 3x 2vs2 groups on the same mountain. You and a friend work together with another team (different ink color) to reach the top, before any of the other two groups do.
