Oh interesting! So SF power will make the game like a pyramide in terms of meeting players :scared:
I wonder if people made notes about their starting power level in dependence of their ranked rang.
Like I don't know, Rank B starts with 400 power and S with 700.
I do believe that is how it works, I'm S+ and started at 1600 points. It then puts you with other players of a similar level then averages the points and pits you against others of a similar average.

This is what it shows at the start of the battle (faced my own team in this match)

I was at 1602 points, but I guess some of my teammates had higher points so together we were around 1640 points while the other team was at 1680.

Also I believe that four squids icon in the corner with the number shows how many times the group has played together in a row. (It continues to go up with at least a group of three, not sure about 2 though)

Callie about to layeth the smackdown.

I wonder, since this is basically Japan's version of the EU Barbarians vs. Ninjas Splatfest, are the results going to be similar?
(Probably; Marie's lucky break ain't gonna last very long, methinks.)
Looks like it turned out different! Another win for Marie!

Both the results for wins and popularity are quite close though. Still, I wonder if this is any indication of a cultural playstyle preference between the two regions, or no correlation at all.

I definitely had a rough time, but it was fun. Grats to daiji ni! You earned it.

I wonder if the small difference between the wins happened because of the Splatfestpower. I hope so since Splatfests will become more thrilling.

NA will probably announce around wednesday via Twitter/Tumblr I think?
Edit: It's announced!

For those that played in the Japanese splatfest, do you feel te ranks were accurate? I played on team snowman and it was like they where clueless but then i tried sand castle and the difference was night and day. I seen people using come'on and booya after splatting 3 or 4 people (snowman never did this it was like so clueless) using specials well like getting it charged up then rushing the charger, using my walls...

are you the same rank in both your accounts? it starts off S/S+ at 1600 points and goes down from there for each major rank, so you would have automatically been placed with better teammates if one of your accounts is a higher rank than the other.

actually, i had a really hard time winning consistently when i started (i started at 1600). kept losing points and gaining and losing... pretty much my teammates were now quite as dependable or responsive and so if i wasn't absolutely owning then winning was almost up to luck. once i finally pushed myself up to 1650ish, it got much easier (it was harder, but as long as i was focusing, my teammates were dependable enough that i could consistently net wins). then close to 1800 it got really tough again simply because all the players were so good.

basically: 1560-1640 was a bit of a clusterfuck, but once i pulled out of there it wasn't so hard because everyone who made it there from my side was dependable.
