Losing points while having bad internet connection

It doesn't calculate how much you lose. disconnects make you lose an automatic 10 (below S) or 5 (S and up) as a penalty.

I feel fairly certain it's not always 10, but that might be me misremembering times when a teammate disconnected.

I think he meant when you disconnect mid match. Like...not when someone disconnects and you lose, but when you disconnect as the game is going on.

Oh, sorry, I didn't word that well: I thought that if you disconnect through a match, the amount of points sometimes changes, but I might have confused a time I disconnected with a time a teammate disconnected and I lost points rather than when I disconnected.

And i understand that, but this was put in place specifically to discourage people from rage quitting, i.e. turning the Wii U off and disconnecting from a match. To my knowledge i don't think there's really a way of telling whether or not someone disconnected because of turning it off or because of bad internet connections, but correct me if i'm wrong if there really is a way to tell.

I have video proof that this is incorrect. In the video it's one single non cut video (as in its only cut to show one specific period of time, but from start to finish the video is not cut in any way). In this video it shows me disconnecting and losing 12 points at a C99 rank. I've also lost more for a disconnect on other occasions but I think proof that I already lost more than you said is enough.
