In the year 20xx, Sakurai takes the stage at E3. Bowing, a solitary spotlight shines from above as he raises his left hand. In it, a Gamecube controller. Raising his right, he has a Wiimote. Sakurai then uses the Wiimote's tether to tie it to the Gamecube controller, and pointing at the screen, starts a trailer for Super Smash Platoon 9, featuring tripping and 1v1 Fox v. Squid Final Splatstination.
