Ninja Squid Question

I've been scouring the web for an answer to this, but for the life of me can't find a solid one: how many Swim Speed Ups do you need to neutralise the Ninja Squid penalty?

Exactly 2 Mains for light weapons.
2 for Medium. (slightly faster than normal swim speed)
1 Main for heavy weapons.

Oooh, that's interesting. I didn't know it varied depending on weapon.
