Do you typically choose the team that you "want" to win. Or the team that you "think" will win. I always go with the team that I want to win and always try to do my best for my team.

Same. I hate the recent trend of the less-popular team winning the Splatfest, even though I tend to agree with the less popular option. I've played in each of the ten that have occurred so far, and I've only lost two of them. I still pick the one I agree with every time. This time I picked Red version...and I know we're gonna lose. But I'll still have fun :)

I also chose red. Also even if we don't win then if we get the highest rank that's still like what 18 super sea snails?

Yup, still 18. And I'm pretty solid on money anyways so I just do it for the fun color combos and the change of pace. Solo que is rigorous :P

I have actually been getting more and more confident in solo ques. Which is good because eventually when I reach S+ 99 and build myself a computer I want to get into competitive. Also I am currently at S+ 45

I'll usually try to pick the winning team, just to get those extra snailies. Playing TW for 4 or so hours to reach royalty gets tiring, fast and the snails are really my only motivation to keep playing.

I've already gone competitive and I'm at my highest yet at S 49. And I'm doing alright. My recommendation is to join a squad asap.

Ever since Art vs. Science I've been choosing based on which team is less popular and/or less likely to draw the worse players, and I make sure to pick the other one. I have yet to lose a Splatfest since. I really just play for the Snails, Splatfest feels mostly like a chore to me honestly. Grinding Turf War is just not enjoyable to me, so I want to make sure my path to max points is as quick and easy as possible.

Being on the losing team is just such a slog, between the long lobby times, minuscule number of points earned, and awful matchmaking. I'm always completely indifferent to the themes anyway, I never have a preference so I figure I might as well just go with whatever will get me the most snails with the least amount of difficulty.
