same-brand gear?

so apparently (im sure this is old news by now) there's a "boost" you get when your headgear, shirt and shoes are all from the same brand. i've done some research but haven't been able to find any solid answers on it?

what is the boost? is it some sort of buff to something like damage or what?

It's just for Splatfests, just in Normal (not Pro), and it only applies when your whole team matches, not just yourself. It's just a score multiplier at the end. But you can get smaller multipliers with partial matches or other kinds of matches (e.g. all squids, all female, all wearing glasses of any type, etc.).
