Should Free For All be considered by Nintendo?

I don't think it would work at all, the fact that ink is movement in this game means it needs to be teams. In a free-for-all you'd have very little room as you get stuck in a dozen different colors of enemy ink, and you'd never be able to hide or flee.

this. Unless they make it so there is no ink on the ground (that's lame) or change it so that you can walk with ease in other's ink, I don't see free for alls happening. And I doubt they would remove ink from the floor. 1v1s would still be nice, though.

I would definitely like to see an FFA mode. But with 8 players it would be a random mess, that's true. 6 could be okay-ish, but still chaotic, I think 4 or 5 players would work out the best way. Game mode should be Turf War of course and we would need modified or new maps (square- or star-shaped ones).
I doubt Nintendo plans such a mode for Splatoon, but who knows.

Hoping FFA is something Nintendo considers later on. Could totally work in Splatoon. Even if it's not a part of the main game, allow us to invite our friends to the battle dojo and have a 4 man FFA mode *shrug*

...even without FFA I hope they make more maps like that. The current maps are good for chaotic battles, but sometimes I want to play something a little less chaotic.

OBJECTION!
They could simply change the game mechanics for this mode. For example, in this mode, inklings could swim in any color. And who knows, it might still be fun even with different colored ink everywhere.
Also, for free for all, I would reccomend restricting it to 4 players at a time. Now 8 players would be a truly hectic mess.

Yes, the only maps that I could see working with this right now are Saltspray Rig and the soon to be released Kelp Dome. One large, main are with several other places to fight.
