UPDATE: Applications have now closed. No further submissions will be accepted at this stage. After a period, applications for the squads competitive tiers may re-open, but this will not be until at least the 15th of November. The first lot of applicants will be contacted on Saturday 10/24 at approx. 6pm EST with details about their placement and other important information.
G'day mates and squids,
Welcome to the next big change that we mods have announced for our squad: Competitive Team-Tiers - For squad members who want to compete in scrimmages & tournaments to represent the Splat-Squad or those who take their rank seriously and would like to improve their skills in ranked battles - applications are now open!
Initial applications will close temporarily at 11:00PM on Friday 23rd of October 2015. This is so that I can organise the first lot of applicants into their respective tiers and have everything sorted before we advance further (NOTE: applications to the competitive team-tiers will open again once everything is organised). And remember, if this doesn't sound right for you, there's no pressure to join, Splat-Squad will continue to welcome those who want to have fun and simply splat with like-minded squids. More fun events for the whole squad will also be coming soon, so stay tuned.
For the time being, I envisage two competitive teams for tournaments & scrimmages - The Quads (1st Tier) and the Squidbeaks (2nd Tier) - as well as two tiers for developing our squad's pros-in-the-making - The Rising Squids (3rd Tier) and the Junior Squids (4th Tier). Each team-tier will be composed of a captain, a vice-captain and 2 other members. The roles of each member will be explained after applications have closed. Depending on the number of applications, the number of team-tiers may be more or less, but that's depends on how many of you squids want to join.
I, the Krak-a-lackin Icky, will be in charge of this section of the squad (applications, organising, queries, team compositions etc), so please direct any queries regarding this matter to myself either by commenting on this post or by sending me a personal message.
And now for the application guidelines, please post/reply to this thread with the following information:
1. In-Game Name (Mii Nickname);
2. Level (1-50);
3. Rank (C- to S+);
4. Average Play-time per week (1-168 hours ;));
5. Your 1-3 best/main weapons that you use, listed from most-skilled to least skilled;
6. Your playstyle (aggressive splatter, supporting sniper, choke-point holder, I'm not sure etc.);
7. Why you want to join a competitive team-tier (to compete in tournaments/scrimmages on behalf of the squad, or to improve your skills so that you can do that one day); and
8. NNID, Skype Username and/or Discord Username (please indicate if you are available to Voice Chat, won't have an effect on where you're placed, just to assist me in organising the tiers).
This might sound scary and daunting, but it isn't. This information will simply assist me in organising everyone into the right team-tiers and ensuring everyone has a fair go at improving and competing. If you are uncomfortable with posting your application here, you can send it in a personal message to me if that's easier. Now, what are you waiting for? Get to typing that application ;)
Splat hard and stay fresh!
