This thread is full of my suggestions for amiibo in Splatoon.
I will post ideas over time
Mario: Mario cap, boots, and overalls(special saver)
Luigi: Luigi cap, boots, and overalls(Ink saver main)
Villager: Number one shirt, blue shoes and radish splat bombs (quick respawn)
DK: Banana ink mines furry high tops and a fluffy brown shirt with a red tie (special charge up)
Yoshi: An egg shirt. egg shoes, and and egg splat bombs( ink saver sub)
Marth: His entire suit of armor (defense up)
Fox: His eyepiece, boots, and a fox mccloud open jacket (bomb range up)
Link: His tunic, and boots. (damage up) Maybe even add an ink bow & arrow class while you're at it

I had this idea a while ago. (Assuming we're keeping weapons out of it) Here's a few.

Donkey Kong: Brown shirt with a DK tie (Quick Super Jump)
Link: Link's cap (Tenacity)
Peach: Her crown (Bomb Range Up)
Zero Suit Samus: Shoes based on her power boots (Ink Saver Main)
King Dedede: His cap (Damage Up)
Meta Knight: His mask (Defense Up)
Shulk: His sweet *** belt shoes (Ink Resistance Up)
Sonic: His sneakers (Run Speed Up)
Bowser: A shirt based on his skin and shell with some spiked wristbands (Cold Blooded)
Ness: Either his red cap or his striped shirt (Special Duration Up)
Bowser Jr.: A clown car shirt and his scarf (Ink Recovery Up)

For the OP's stuff:

Villager tee (Recon)

Fine, edited my post and included somewhat appropriate abilities for the OP's suggestions as well.

just slap special saver on all of 'em and call it a day.

i have to think? fine. maybe:
Donkey Kong: Damage up. strong ape. strong gear.
link: Special charge up. like charging his attacks.
peach: quick re-spawn, or comeback. she's always getting kidnapped, rescued, then starting it all over again.
ZSS: tenacity. that girl's tough, and can run all day.
dedede: bomb sniffer? maybe recon. seems to know what's going on around him enough.
meta knight: cold blooded, man.
shulk: i know nothing about the char, but maybe since (i think) he never gives up, some last ditch effort?
sonic: run speed up, obv.
ness: haunt. since he and his buddies turn into little ghosts.
bowser jr: very tricky, so I'd say opening gambit, or special duration up.

Well if this is in response to my ideas, some of these don't exactly work since the unstackable abilities like Tenacity are locked to specific gear types. Like Tenacity-Hats, Opening Gambit-Hats, Bomb Sniffer-Shoes.

kind of, but i was just thinking overall character. they could have any type of gear.
