Do include that "Neo" is also the company that does in-universe construction. Since the point sensor has a futuristic look to it, it's safe to assume that it's probably made by them.

But I'm guessing "Neo", "Nouveau", and "New", are all different companies.

Yeah but Custom is a company and Sheldon makes a Custom thing. So it's possible he could own/have a hand in those companies that make those particular alternate variants.

He said that it's only Custom in English, and that in Japan it's instead “Maple” while the normal one is “New Leaf”. So you can't quite make that comparison

It's broader than that actually. All NoA-made translations- which include Spanish and French- use the same prefix they use to denote "Custom" brand weapons

But yes, Sheldon's really only a salesman aside from the two original weapons gained via single player.

That's true, however it is different in the original Japanese and (I believe? Not exactly sure) the NoE translation. However what matters most is what the original says.
