Squad battle question

Are squads only matched against squads? I play random ranked and I swear I face the same 4 names game in game out. I dont feel like its coincidence but if squads are matched against random players I thinks its BS

I'm fairly certain it's always squads against squads. (though I've heard people speculate otherwise) In your ranked matches, are you selecting "yeah!" afterwards? It'll put you in the same lobby, and if those four players did the same, you'd all be in the same match.

Solo ranked are matched with solo ranked but it's possible for multiple people who know each other to be placed in the same room if they enter ranked at the same time. Though this won't guarantee them being on the same team.
Twin squads are matched with other twins.
Tri squads are matched with other tri squads and unfortunately mostly matched against quad squads.
Quad squads match against quad and sometimes tri squads.
