Welcome to Surf + Turf! A somewhat competitive Splatoon tournament with a little Turf War thrown in the mix!​

14/ 16 teams have entered!
16 teams maximum can enter; although this will be increased to 32 if the demand is high.

Spoiler: Format

- This tournament will be Swiss with 3 rounds and a top cut of 8 (Round Robin)

- Rounds will be best of 5 (both Swiss rounds and Top Cut)

- Game modes consist of Rainmaker, Tower Control, Splatzones and Turf War!

- The tournament will have 4 brackets. Your team will play all three other teams in your bracket. The top 2 teams of each bracket will progress to the top cut.

- All maps available in Splatoon version 2.4.0 will be used in the tournament

Spoiler: Disconnection Rules

- If 1 member from one of the teams disconnect in the first minute of the match, the team with the disconnected player can call for a rematch. They must provide sufficient evidence (a screenshot) if the team chooses to do this.

- If 1 member from each team disconnects, the match will continue.

- If 1+ member from one team disconnects, an automatic rematch will be called. Again, sufficient evidence must be supplied.

- A maximum of 1 rematch will be allowed per round.

- If a rematch is called, both teams can swap weapons and players. Next map will be used.

- 2 members maximum can swap in each round.

For this tournament you will be supplied with the maps for each round. You MUST use these maps during each round and game of the tournament. Failure to do so will result in a disqualification for the host team.

I appreciate the turf war tournament option, even though I know most teams aren't into turf war. The more variety the merrier. I also like that there seems like there was a good amount of effort put into making this topic. lots of pictures (they aren't a paragon of photoshop or anything but that's more than I'd expect from any tournament). The picture with the squid sitting on the tree legitimately makes me chuckle. putting the times in several different time zones (even japan!) was also really cool. You may have overstimated your timetable needs a little at 5 hours, but not by much if so and having a little more time to work with is always good especially if you aren't super experienced. Only problem is you're running in a pretty busy weekend overall, but it seems you did set the tournament time to not conflict with anyone so that was smart even though the time is kind of late. You can't really control busy weekends of course. only quip is I kinda wish the discord link was in the OP and not PMed. and the d/c rules regarding rematches moving to the next map seems a bit odd, but that's totally up to you.

I'd play if I, you know, actually played the game anymore. If you need a little extra help on the floor on the day of (assuming you don't have a full team), then I can definitely help out. Either way I wish you luck and I recommend this from looking at the topic to any team looking for something a little different and more casual than the other tournaments.

I just wanted to make it clear that the tournament will start when all team leaders (or team representatives) are present on the Surf + Turf discord. So the earlier you login to discord, the earlier the tournament will start!
