Tricolors are happening all Grand Festival long!

(feels a little weird making a thread for every little update about grandfest, but the one i just made is pretty unrelated to this and the older more general grandfest threads are several weeks old, soo...)

Anyway, this is from this page on the nintendo site:

How we feeling about this? Personally I may schedule my weekend around when scorch gorge is in rotation, lol

Also, glad we're getting a grandfest-exclusive tricolor map. But if everyone's performing there and ...presumably performing outside battles as well, how will that work? lol

(Also this means we gotta get grandfest-exclusive Now or Never right??)

I haven't played tricolour in a while and I never really understood how it worked.

I remember on one of my first tricolour battles trying so hard to kill the members of the other attacking team. That wasn't good.

As a gamemode tricolour gets old after 3 matches (unless I win all of them).

no yeah it took me until anniversary fest to really like tricolor and i think a big part of that was having all the tricolor maps in rotation. so i'm excited to have that back

though going from that to just the grand splatlands bowl might just make it repetitive again... unless the stage is really good to play on or finalfest hype just take over. we'll see what happens lol

I really hope they add some more stuff to them like the Gushers in Eeltail. Not total rehauls but maybe a few extra silly bits to spice it up, maybe it can even impact each team like different buffs (Like maybe Attackers can get increased Ink Efficiency for their main and subs and Defenders get increased Run and Swim speed). Tricolor isn't ever going to be played in a competitive setting so why limit it to that standard? Just get crazy with it.

I have mixed feelings about tricolor battles.
They are really fun but can get boring after a while as the maps don't rotate.
So when I heard this I got super excited! Finally, I can enjoy a tricolor battle without dreading the next one because the map is the same.
I am also excited for the Grand Splatlands Bowl, even though I don't know if I will take part in it. ^^

tricolor battle's usually available after the halftime report. HOWEVER, for Grand Festival, they'll be available for the whole splatfest, which is cool

So essentially for the first 16 rotations/32 hours there will be set tricolor stages, then for the next 8 rotations/16 hours it's completely random. That's an interesting way to do things.

"Yunohana Great Valley" I believe is scorch gorge and if my math is right that puts us at..........6am EST?? (someone please correct me if I am wrong on either of those). If that's correct my dedication will be tested, lol

I really avoid tricolors because I suck at them for some damn reason

Oh so are they like challanges, a different mode you choose? if so, I never noticed them (and I played a lot during the two latest splatfests)

I literally just kind of threw this together without too much double checking so don't take it as gospel and please point out errors if you see them but I think this is how the tricolor stage schedule breaks down stateside (note that the two columns are both start times for different time zones and not start/end times like the original chart lol) :
