A Thread for discussing Weapon Class Concepts

The Game Has Three Weapon Classes: Shooter, Charger and Roller

Here are Two More Weapon Classes That I Thought up and wanted to share

Don't focus on the Sub and Specials because they aren't Class Dependent

Skates n' Gloves:

Description: Skate and Climb your way thru Turf as a Inkling and Spread Ink at the same Time.

Pros:
- Hi Speed and Agility, Rivaling the agility of Squid Form (it would be slower tho)
- Very versatile main weapon with a lot of Mobility and Utility
- Great for quickly infiltrating and back-Dooring Team

Cons:
- Melee Class, with smaller range than the Roller
- Very flashy Hit-n-Run PlayStyle, Very Vulnerable in Fights
- Not a Noob-Friendly Class in any way whatsoever

Appearance: Inkings Put on a Pair of Ink Skates(Underneath the Shoes) and a Pair of Ink Gloves

Controls:

While on Flat Ground:

- Rapidly Taping ZR will Make the Inkling Push off with his Skates, Slinging Ink Behind Him/Her and Accelerating Forward
- Holding Down ZR While Skating will Make the Inkling Power Slide, Shooting Ink in Front of Him/Her and Slowing him/her Down
- Can also use Sub Weapons While Skating
- Power Sliding Can also help the Inkling Make Sharp Turns at Hi Speeds
- Holding Down ZR While Walking or Standing will Make the Inkling Do a Charge Push Off, Allowing the Inkling to instantly reach Max Speed and Sling a lot of Ink Behind Him/Her
- Pressing ZR while facing a Bad Guy at point blank range while walking or Standing, will Two-Hand Touch the Enemy, Insta-Splating Them ( Or at least do some Heavy Damage )

While Near a Wall or Steep Surface:

- Rapidly Taping ZR will Make the Inkling Climb, Leaving a Path of Ink as He/She Goes Up
- Holding ZR will Make the Inkling Cling to the Wall, Holding his/her Position while Draining Ink
- Can also use Sub Weapons While Clinging

Stats

Skate/Climb Speed
Skate Acceleration/ Ink Sling-off Size
Charge Rate/Sling Range

Notes

I was trying to go for a (Flashy Assassin/ Harasser/ Trail Blazer) Weapon Class
This weapon Class allows you the Mobility of a Squid, without any of the other benefits of being in squid form (no Stealth or Ink Regen)
With the Increased Speed, you can easily create a Path right over Enemy Ink almost as fast as a squid can travel
However, while Doing so, you become even more vulnerable to enemies than any other class
Using Wall Cling, Power Slide, Charge Push Off and Sub Weapons allows you to counteract your weaknesses by having a lot of switch up Options.
I Added the Two Hand Touch as a Last Line of Defense for this Weapon Class because there isn't any stand and fight options for this Class

Bubble Wand

Description: Cover Entire Areas with Ink in one Shot and Provide Some Durability to your Allies

Pros:
- Quickly Cover Areas in Ink
- Help your Allies Fill their Special meter Gauge Faster
- Can Heal Allies Mid Fight

Cons:
- Requires a Combo of actions for effective use
- Very low Damage to Inklings and Subs/Supers
- Very Slow Mobility while Firing
- Consumes a lot of Ink
- Slow Projectile Speed

Appearance: Inkling Carry a Large Bubble Wand into Battle

Controls:
- Holding Down ZR Charges Up a Bubble in front of the Inkling Making it Grow In size until released
- Letting Go of ZR or Charging the Bubble to its Max will Release the Bubble
- the Bigger the Bubble the Slower it Travels, and visa versa
- Damage stays Constant regardless of Bubble Size
- Allies within Bubbles Aoe will be Washed in Ink, Instantly Healing them
- If the Bubble is Shot by an Ally, another bubble, or Touches Terrain it will explode and rain down Ink underneath where it Popped
- If the Bubble is Shot by Enemy Ink the Bubble while Shrink, decreasing its Aoe.
- If an Ally Shot the Bubble Points Gained will be Split evenly between that ally and the Bubble Blower

Stats:

Bubble Size
Charge Rate
Bubble Speed

Notes

A support/Healer Class That is Bad at Combat but still useful in a Team Fight.
This Weapon Class allow you to Ink entire areas, leaving no Gaps for maximum Score Output
However the Damage done by Bubbles is very low and enemies who see your Bubble can reduces its effectiveness by shooting at it
The Damage Stays the Same no matter how big or small the Bubble is so rapidly firing small fast bubbles are best for dealing damage to foes.
Also you can Grant some Strong Game Changing Boost to your Allies
Allies within the Aoe of the Bubble when it Pops will be Fully Healed allow a losing battle to become a winning one, But the Bubble would have to be preplanned as there is a small window of time to heal in shootouts ( the 100 HP to 0 HP time of a Shooter weapon )(It is just a heal and grants no other bonus)
Allies that Shoot the Bubble will take some of the points for the ink that is Spread
You could Charge up a Max size Bubble and let a SplatCharger hit it for a massive Boost to his/Her Special Charge(Great for Starting a Match)

Well, I've been thinking about this a lot anyway, so...

Spray Can:

Description:
Quickly and efficiently spray the area around you while ambushing and defending your turf from enemies.

Pros:
- Spreads ink as quickly as the roller does, but with a larger range.
- High damage output in close quarters.
- Capable of limiting enemy movement and vision.

Cons:
- Limited range; they Spray Can's spray will only go so far, so taking the high ground is useless except for having a vantage point to jump down from.
- Unlike the Roller, it doesn't have an instasplat, so enemies will always have at least some time to react to an ambush.
- Their paint clouds might accidentally impair their and their teammates vision as well.
- Paint fumes make it very obvious where a Spray Can has just been.

Appearance: Gnerally spray-can based. Some might be bulkier or funkier-looking than others.

Controls:
- ZR to spray a continuous stream of paint fumes in front of you. This paint covers terrain without leaving gaps.Think of a "flamethrower" type weapon.
- While firing, paint fumes linger for a few seconds around areas you have just sprayed.
- These paint fumes are opaque and block sight, while also dealing continuous damage to opponents.
- This means that an opponent being sprayed by a spray can will have the damage dealt to them effectively multiply over time.
- Damage dealt also increases the closer the spray can is to you, as long as they're spraying.

Stats:

Spray Distance
Spray Width
Damage

Notes:

One of the best classes for spreading ink in the game.
Not the best combatant unless they ambush their opponents or otherwise catch them off-guard.
However, they're very good at holding ground, as opponents typically cannot tell exactly where they are and they cannot pass through ink clouds without taking damage.
Overall, much better for team support than for going o the direct offensive.

I had a skate idea, too!

Roller Skates that leave a trail of ink as you move and lets you perform tricks that determine the splats. I'd call them "Skwid Marks".
