What happened to the pretty colors?

While playing Splatoon, I have begun to notice that there isn't a large variety of ink colors that actually appear in-game.

Most of the time I tend to only see these few colors while playing:

|Purple & Yellow|Purple & Pastel Green|Dark Blue & Orange|Cyan & Pink|Green & Purple|

What happened to | Soda VS Purple | Pink VS Sky Blue |

Why do you think there isn't a larger variety of ink colors?

Does anyone else think about this? Or is it just me?

Tfw, you want to take an avatar photo in splatoon 2, but you can't get the right ink color for your photo in recon mode... kms ( but not really)

I've heard from others that Turf War and Ranked Mode have separate color combinations that you'll only see in those modes.

Not sure what happened to the colors you mentioned though, I haven't seen the classic Orange vs. Dark Blue or Orange vs. Cyan yet though... I did really like those combinations from the first game.

I do miss the colors we used to have but I gotta say, I'm a fan of the PB and J ink.

Just to compare with the first games available Ink Colors...

Felt like alot more back then, oddly.
