The title says it all. If you have any ideas for a game mode, share them.

I also posted one in this thread (check out the OP game mode idea, too. I didn't come up with it, but it's good): https://squidboards.com/threads/i-made-a-new-game-mode.30895/

I'm reposting what I posted there below just because I: 1. Love my idea and 2. Think it would be cool to have a single thread that compiles game mode ideas.

Mods, feel free to edit the below out if this is overstepping anything by reposting.

It's basically hide-n-seek, and here's how our idea works:

-One person a team randomly gets picked as IT. They know they're IT because they have a rainmaker in their hands.
-The team with IT gets a fifteen second head start to start inking.
-The team with IT has one goal -- IT must make it to the end of the match without getting splatted.
-IT will not glow despite having the rainmaker.
-IT will automatically have ninja squid without any speed nerfs.
-The team with IT automatically has quicker respawn, I think, but this would need to be tested for fairness. (Even quicker respawn gear on top of it would just add to it, for reference.)

-The team without IT has one goal -- they must splat IT before the end of the match.

They'd have to test to see what a good amount of time for this would be, but I'd think three minutes (a turf wars-length match) would be a good starting point.

What I love about this mode idea is that the mix of skill and strategy could result in some really interesting methods of play. Do you place most of your team near IT to protect IT? Do you spread your team out as to not give away IT's position?

On the other side, does the team trying to find IT group together as to avoid dying and best take advantage of the IT's team's death time? Or do they spread out to better find IT across the maps?

If Nintendo were willing, it would make best sense that the team with IT is randomized, but the team itself votes (in event of a tie vote, it's randomized among the tie). Also, it would make a ton of sense to be able to choose your weapon after you see if you defending or attacking.

I feel like a whole new game mode set around these kinds of games could be cool. It doesn't even need to be ranked or regular. It could be something that's available only sometimes like SR. Hell, it could be a Splatfest-only game type.

Megalomanic Golf mode. Like Turf War is the battle version of "no-ranking", I think there should be a "horde-mode" without ranking too.
So give 4 squids a joint goal; getting a giant ball across a golf course by spraying ink on it to move it. It will only move on ink though. The courses should be of course like minature golf, just a lot bigger. Imagine the Booyah's being spammed when the ball reaches close to its goal.

Lounge mode.
There should be a mode to party, i think. Just throw 8 squids together in a level for 5 mins without any purpose; perhaps with 8 colours of ink, even. Maybe remove the killing, even. Squid parties are a no-no now that people might be using their precious experience or money tickets on Turf War, and I've not seen one happening in Splat 2 just yet.

What if in lounge mode, you splat someone but they don't actually die -- they just expel ink if your color, become invincible for a second and then their health starts over again.

So everyone is just shooting everyone else and color is flying all over the place.

Oh! I love that idea =D. I mean, the test area is BORING as hell. Improved a bit from the last game, but still.... BORING. Splatoon is all about live interaction, so a mode that could be to party as well as test out weapons, would be fun!!

You can even do it where you still level up weapons (but not your actual level) at maybe a quarter of whatever you ink so people feel more incentive to play even beyond that.

Would be a really fun place for parents to have their kids play, too -- instead of the obvious "this is a five year old in turf wars on his mom's account" situations. As a father, I'd love that.
